journal forty-two.

two hours before sunset

I’ve realized that’s my favorite time

outside, at my new place

maybe old to some, but new to me

on my balcony, overlooking my city

I’m swinging

swinging swinging swinging

more like softly rocking actually

I’m softly rocking

on the only thing I have out here—

one sole hammock

and the weather is what I always wished

Texas weather would be:

perfect for shorts, a sweater, and throw

people say it’s all about the little things

and this is one,

this little thing

it does, somehow, feel like everything

Raw and unadulterated — this is how I typically feel things. And when I feel these things I think I feel, I write. My little pieces of comprehension have taken the form of words jumbled together on your screen. A masterpiece? Probably not, but welcome to glimpses of this incredible life I get to experience. I do hope you’ll stick around.
