journal sixty-two.

I love poetry

but I am not so great at sharing my words—

dishing out compliments does not come

so easily to me

I think it’s because of the obviousness

how it’s so easy to see

how much adoration I have for you

that speaking such simple words are lousy

but how silly is that thought

when you deserve someone who will

scream it from the rooftops

shamelessly

so know I will miss your handsomeness

and your kind heart

and your silliness

and your love for me

and I may have once thought

you need someone to get over another

but getting over someone so special

isn’t as easy

it’s a first to have loved someone

so dearly

that I wish the best for you

even if it may not be with me

they say if you love someone

to let them go

and I love you enough

to let you be

and I’ll be sad for a long while

and I’ll miss you so much

but I hope that one day

you’ll be happy

Raw and unadulterated — this is how I typically feel things. And when I feel these things I think I feel, I write. My little pieces of comprehension have taken the form of words jumbled together on your screen. A masterpiece? Probably not, but welcome to glimpses of this incredible life I get to experience. I do hope you’ll stick around.
